Hi all...

I am trying to create a Windows Application in VS.NET. If I
create a new app in either VB or C# and add any control, I get the
following message
when I run the app:

An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArithmeticException' occurred in
system.drawing.dll
Additional information: Overflow or underflow in the arithmetic
operation. If I remove all controls, it runs fine, albeit with a blank
form. But the Web applications r working fine.. Plz give a correct
solution....

Looking forward ur Reply...

Regards,
Krish.

Hi Krish. A number of people have experienced this problem. This will occur
if you manipulated the floating-point control register (Q326219), but I
assume you have not done this - however, it is possible you are using a
driver or have a third-party program installed which is doing so. The best
advice I can give you right now is this: Try rebooting in safe mode, which
is Standard VGA only. See if it still reproduces. If it does, try updating
your graphics card driver, and then if that doesn't work, try changing your
graphics card. Try reinstalling the .NET Framework. If none of this helps,
try uninstalling applications or devices that might be interfering. As a
last resort, reformatting and reinstalling the OS might eliminate the
conflicting component. Sorry that I can't suggest a less drastic action.
