Sounds like you have virus/worm or you have had one and you think it's
removed. I¨don't remember name of the virus, but it has file called
system32.exe (main virus component). When you had this virus, there were
start request for it in registry. After removing the virus file and not
doing it properly, windows still might have that registry setting. The
rgistry setting might be under key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run". Look a
setting ending with string "system32". Remember that system32.exe is not
part of windows; its the virus.

Greetings --

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."

This arises if you have a line in the startup side of registry that is
either blank, or starts with a /. thus terminating the 'name of
program'. Most usually a /L:ENG put there by audigy card drivers.
Start - Run - MSConfig.exe and on the Startup page look for that in the
Command colu,mn, and uncheck it.

Exit - do not bother to reboot, but next time you do there will be a
message about 'Troubleshooting'. Check the 'Do not show again' box and
exit
