SYSPREP

I have configured my model computer and copied the
SYSPREP files to a folder on the system partition on the
model computer. Would it be better to run the SYSPREP
utility from the GHOST image server(Server holding all the
GHOSTED images) or from the model computer?. If I run the
SYSPREP utility from the GHOST server, would I need to
copy the SYSPREP files (SYSPREP.exe, SYSPREP.inf and
SETUPCL.exe) to the GHOST image server?. Additionally,
the model computer is configured to join a Domain. Is
this recommended or should I configure the destination
computers to join a Domain after the image has been rolled
out to the destination computers?

My understanding is once SYSPREP is ran, the model
computer shuts down, and the image is created. When the
model computer is restarted, does it run the mini-setup
wizard and reassigns the SID. What effect, if any will it
have on my original settings/configuration as I would like
to maintain the original state of the model computer prior
to running the SYSPREP utility. If there are no adverse
effects, do I just let the mini-setup wizard run its
course? Please advise.

Thank you very much for your response.

my understanding is if you want the changes you make to stay, you need to
run sysprep in audit mode. then you seal it after your changes are done.
i've also read that you cannot preinstall a system configured as a domain
controller. if i recall correctly, the docs say that change will be undone.
the sysprep utilities themselves should be run on the computer you're
prepping (the files should delete themselves once the sysprep is completed,
im just not sure when they delete... when you seal it or during minisetup).
