SYSPREP

JAMES

I want to use SYSPREP to clonate a new computer

1.- How can I create a startup disk (the disk can be DOS
or can be a windows 98 starup disk?)

2.- Do I need that the startup disk have files to connect
to the LAN (where can I find this?). How can connect a
cmomputer from DOS to the LAN?

3.- The starup disk must have the ghost to clonate the
computer or can be in another disk?

4.- Any other info...........

Thanks for your help.

James,

I'm afraid I don't understand your questions.

Sysprep merely prepares a drive for cloning. Microsoft does not provide a
disk cloning tool; for that you'll need a hardware disk duplicator or a
software solution such as Ghost or Partition Magic or some other third party
utility.

You configure a machine the way you want it, then run sysprep. Then clone
the drive using your tool. Put a cloned drive into a new machine and power
it up.

There's no need for startup disks in this process. Can you fill us in on
where in the process/why you need startup disks?
