Sysprep.exe Version

To ALL,
I need to get specific information on the difference in versions of Sysprep
that are available.

I have been using a Version of Sysprep.exe dated 8/17/2001 , Version
5.1.2600.0 [xpclient.010817-1148] with the Gold release of Windows XP. When
launching this version, the dialog box pops up and states that it is
"Sysprep Version 2.0"
We are updating our workstation to SP1. With the SP1a update comes a newer
version of the deployment tools. The SYSPREP.EXE that is included is dated
8/29/2002, Version 5.1.2600.1106 [xpsp1.020828.1920]. This version also pops
up a dialog box stating it is "Sysprep Version 2.0".

Does anyone out there know what the differences are? Is the newer SP1
version going to work on my Gold release staged machines ?
And where I can get the MSFT published information/release notes/
compatability listing/gotchas, etc,etc.?

Sorry for the lengthy request but I've exhausted my resources at this point.

the microsoft guys are actually pretty good about reading and quickly
