Outlook syncronizes everything on first access each day. This really slows
down my operation. Is there a way to simply download messages and not sync
anything?

I'm using this as part of Office 2003 and at this time just for home use. I'm
not using the calendar, journal or anything else.

For a POP3 account? A sync then means a simple send/receive operation and
not an actual sync.
