SyncMgr (Mobsync.exe) execution

Hi, i have one 2003 domain and some servers that have metaframe (citrix) in it.
Just few weeks ago we notice that mobsync process is consuming an important
time of processing.

I have tried to block this with gpo policies and local policies to block the
use of offline files and everything related to this service, but it still
executes.

Some help about something else to stop SyncMgr (Mobsync.exe) executing ?}

"Microsoft Mobile Synchronization Manager. One annoying programme you
will find running in W2K/XP is mobsync.exe. This is because it is set by
default to synchronise your home page at log-on. To stop this, run the
programme "Synchronise" from your "Start/Programmes/Accessories Menu.
Select setup, and uncheck the synchronisation options, then deselect the
option to synchronise your home page. From explorer select Tools/Folder
Options/Offline Files: deselect the "Enable Offline Files" option. When
you reboot you will find the programme is no longer running by default.
You can also remove optional components from your Windows 2000
installation that are not shown in the Add/Remove Programmes applet."

Your offline files or redirected folders synchronize automatically when
you log off or log on to a Windows Server 2003-based computer

Thanks John, do you think i could apply this solution by gpo?

I'm not sure, there was an issue with that on earlier server versions,
but one would think that it would be repaired in Server 2003. Look

This mobsync is like Frankenstein on steroids if you ask me, it can be
hard to tame. Your users will probably get it going again if they
change their Synchronization Option in IE tools menu so you might have
to craft the GPO to take that into account. Other than that I really
don't know, maybe someone in the Group Policy or Internet Explorer news
groups might have a more definitive answer.
