Synchronizing Time

I have a new HP running XP HE. Whenever I try to
synchronize time I get the following error message:

"An error occurred while windows was synchronizing with
time.nist.gov (or time.windows.com).

I am connected to the internet via a cable modem.

Don't understand why I am getting this message.

Any ideas?

Are you using a firewall that is preventing the 'General Host Process
for Windows Services' (svchost) from accessing the internet?
