please help.

i have sent several emails from outlook and they do not appear in the sent
folder of my internet email. conversely, if i send from my internet email it
does not appear on outlook.

similarly with deleted emails ... if i delete emails on outlook it does not
show as deleted in internet mail. and if i delete an email on internet mail
then it does not appear in my deleted folder in outlook

If you are using the POP email service then no they won't synchronise. What
Internet email service are you using?

Hi Gordon ... I am using the POP email service. I am trying to use Outlook
to manage my Yahoo email account. Is there any way to get around this? I
travel with work a lot and want to be able to use my Outlook at home and a
web-based email on the road.

Thoughts?

The only way round is to use an IMAP mail service. Yahoo doesn't offer that
but Googlemail does....

As long as you're using POP/SMTP, there's nothing you can do about Sent
Items, since those protocols do not understand "folders" There is simply
nothing in the POP/SMTP protocols that deal with message storage.

You can mitigate the effect by configuring Outlook to leave copies of
messages it downloads on the server so that at least you'll have access to
anything arriving in your Inbox both at home and on the road. IMAP is a
mail protocol that does understand folders, but I don't believe Yahoo offers
IMAP. Gmail does, and you could switch to that.
