Synchromising Outlook

Can anyone recommend a method of synchronising my copies of Outlook on my
desktop and laptop which does not involve copying the outlook.pst file
between the 2 machines?

If the two machines are networked together, an UNSUPPORTED way would be to
place your PST on a network share and map each Outlook to the same PST.

we released today a Beta version of EZOutlookSync- that is meant to do
just what you need. You basically to the program the two *.pst file, it
will compare them and bring updated data to each, or to one of them.
Beta version is absolutely free- please download from

Looks like a nice tool.

Your website says, "EZOutlookSync will run on your Windows
95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP with Outlook 2000/XP/2003." To be pedantic, there is
no such beast as Outlook XP. Office XP includes Outlook 2002.

Hi Brian,

Thank you very much for the response. I do have a home network but I'm not
sure your suggestion will help.

I work a lot from home on my desktop pc. As part of my preparations for
working away from home I want to be able to sync the "current state" of
Outlook i.e. e-mails, tasks, calender etc. with my laptop so that I can pick
up from where I left off on my desktop and then transfer everything back when
I return home.

My Outlook.pst file is often over 700 mb in size and this has provied
difficult to copy between machines.

I'll have a look at the next posting for the sync'ing software.

Hi Maxim,

Thank you very much for your posting. This looks like an ideal solution to
my problem. A software based solution seems much more preferable than trying
to copy files particularly very large outlook.pst files.
