Synching concert footage to CD recordings

Hello,
I have some footage of a band at a club and recorded it with MPEG on a Sony
Cybershot still camera. The audio is very distorted so, I am trying to synch
the video as best as possible to the CD recordings.Kind of like a music
video. Since it is live footage and not in exact time as the recordings, I
have been dropping still pictures with transitions and adjusting the length
of the picture shot to help keep it time but, it's not the most perfect. Is
there a way to synch it up and keep it in synch that I don't know about? I
have been working on this for months and just want to get done with it
already and send it to the band.

Sounds like the way your doing it is probably the only way to get it done.
Tedious but probably worth it in the end.

Hmm. I just had a thought. Maybe if I trim the video clips a bit that would
do it and I wouldn't have to insert still pictures and transitions. I bet
that's the answer. I'm gonna try it and let you know how it works. )

It's worth a shot but it won't be any easier to sync everything together.
Your is a job I wouldn't want to have to do.

No kidding. I'm actually trying to address this issue in another post to see
if there are any other options first.
