Synching appts Outlook 2003 & 2000

I use Outlook from Ofc2003, but my wife uses Outlook from Ofc2000. If
I try to send her an appointment from my calendar, her Outlook doesn't
accept it as an appointment for her Calendar. Rather, it is treated as
a simple text-based message, including the full header and special code
intended for it to be an appt. However, synch'ing appointments does
work from her calendar to mine.

Is there a way to (1) configure my calendar for backward compatibility
or (2) to somehow enable her calendar?

TIA :)

1) double click on her address and make sure it's not set to always use
plain text. You need to use RTF.

2) do not set reminders on it before sending.

Thank you for your prompt and accurate response!

Not setting the reminder is what worked. However, I would hope that
this will be fixed in a future update for either version. [rant] It is
a bit of a hassle to create an appointment that requires a reminder, to
turn the reminder off, send it to ALL recipients (not knowing what
version they might use), ... and then re-open it and set the reminder,
and disable the update for others.[/rant]

cheerios :)
