Sync with Exchange

I have almost 10GB of data in my exchange-account. When installing
Outlook on a new computer I would prefer to only sync mails received
and sent during the last year. I know it is possible to specify this
time limit but then I have to do it separately for each folder and
there are plenty. I don't think it is possible to set it recursively.
Am I wrong?
I asume I could write a script that recursively go through all folders
and set this but I don't know how to do it. Anyone knows about such a
script?

When you connect to your Exchange mailbox you get the whole mailbox. If you
only want certain parameters, you need to clean up your Exchange mailbox
before connecting Outlook to it. Otherwise, you will need to archive your
local Outlook mailbox after you have connected to Exchange.

That is the default behaviour but you can change that by setting properties
for each folder. I am looking for a way to automate this since it is a pain
to do that to all the folders.

I want all my files to stay on the server so to archive them is not an option.

Best regards
