Sync My Outlook Data

I currently use Office 2007 on my XP Pro machine at my office and I will be
fetting a Vista 64 machine at home and will be installing Office 2007. I
would like to sync much of my data between tihe 2 machines on a continued
basis. I have seen that Microsoft has a program (but can't find it right
now) but it suggests that it should not be used for my Outlook PST file. My
Outllook data is important and I would like a program that would sync my data
(automatically in the backgroud if possible) over the internet.

I would appreciate your thoughts on how to accomplish this and also your
thoughts on the security of my data and my machines.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your quick response, I am using POP3 accounts.

I checked out the 2 suggestions that you provided.

Easy2Sync does not appear to work over the internet. I am not sure what it
means but it says it does not support "Sync over the internet (except via
VPN, Webdrive, Foldershare & Co)". Does this mean that it will work if I
also use another program in conjunction with Easy2Sync?

It also appears to me that SimpleSyn does not work over the internet but on
a network though I am not sure.

If you have experience with either one and know that they work over the
internet I would appreciate feedback.

Also, how do you feel about using these type of programs from a security
standpoint?

There are no tools that will sync over the internet unless your company uses
extremely poor network security. If one of those tools will sync over a
network, you'll need to your company's network with a VPN. Otherwise, for
manual methods and other tools, see this:

My company is a small real estate company and I will have to inquire as to
what kind of network security. If I wanted to use a VPN to sync, hoiw do I
go about creating or getting a VPN?

A VPN usually has two sides, a server side and a client side. A VPN network
device sits on the company network and provides the interface to the network.
The VPN client is on the user's PC and connects to the VPN server. The two
interact and create a secure, encrypted tunnel between the client PC and the
company network to allow the client PC to appear to be connected to the
company network directly. VPN servers and clients are available commercially
from companies like cisco. There are also clientless VPN devices (such as
those sold by Juniper Networks) that supply a web interface so that you can
connect to them without having a pre-installed VPN client on the remote PC.
The clientless VPN server downloads and installs everything needed to constuct
the secure tunnel when the client PC connects to its web interface and the
user authenticates to it.
