"Sync"-ing calendar between two separate computers

My wife and I use two separate computers to maintain our
appointments. I keep my calendar on my work computer
while hers is on our home computer.

We would like to sync each other's calendar so that we
will have the most updated information of all our
appointments and etc, without losing any data. We do not
have the luxury of a Pocket PC that can go back and
forth. We would need to use a disk or zip disk.

What steps can we take to ensure that our data is updated
and accurate. (We do not want to use the internet as a
mean to sync.)
