symbols on keyboard are coming up in French instead of English

I'm having trouble with only a few of my symbols, my slash and question mark
and the quotation marks, keep coming up with french symbols instead of the
normal symbols they should be. I am running Vista and I am using a new
Toshiba lap top. One of the start up options was to pick English or other
languages. I did pick english but this seems to be a billingual key board and
I can't seem to find any information on how to fix this problem. See what I
mean É ( that should be a question mark).
Please help me if you can....

Look for your Keyboard Layout (Control Panel\Clock, Language, and
Region, Change keyboards or other input media)
and from there choose the one for your or remove the one that you
don't use.
P.S. Try the tray icon near the clock to see if there is Layout for
your Langugage.

Hey Robert, I was wondering if you knew why sometimes when I have more than
one tab opened and a box pops up asking me if I want to close all the tabs,
it won't let me just close some of them, it wants to close them all...???? JO

Was your computer bought in Canada.
If so you may have the French(Canada) or Canada (multilingual)
keyboard.

Open the Control Panel, go into Regional Options (it may be called
something a bit different in english). You will find a Keyboard tab.
Add your keyboard layout, Apply. Remove the other one, or
at least be sure to make your keyboard the default one.
