The Monotype sorts font isn't installed as part of Windows, so it may not be
present on all computers.
To test this, open the presentation on the computer where it's having problems.
Choose Format, Replace Fonts
Look at the list of fonts in the upper of the two listboxes.
Any font with a "?" next to it is one that's used in the presentation but not
available on the computer.
Try using a bullet from the WingDings font instead.
The PP files were created on another PC with Office 2002, and also worked on
PC's that had Word 2000, WinXP, then installed Office 2003, but it doesn't
work on new laptops XP with Office 2003. Can't change the fonts as there are
numerous pages in many files created by someone else, and I have to work with
them. Cindy
Not legally, unless you own the font or install a product that includes it.
But you may be in luck.
There are real problems in PPT 2003 when fonts are embedded in presentations,
specifically if the fonts don't have sufficent embedding permissions. It can cause
PPT to open the presentation as Read-Only; it won't allow you to edit or save the
file if you don't have the needed font installed.
But it seems that Monotype Sorts is "installable embedding enabled" (or at least
the copy I have here is). You should be ok to embed it in your presentation. If
you do that, the font will be available on the laptop when you open the
presentation there.
Thanks to you both for the help. I do own a copy of Office 97 so will give
it a go. Have to wonder now who else is having this problem as these files
are sent to other groups to print off and use.
