syetem32.exe

I recently got the parite virus and in getting rid of it I
deleted a load of infected .exe files. I didn't think this
was much of a problem until I recently got the blaster worm
and installed Norton AV and Sygate firewall. After getting
rid of the worm I am now getting a dialogue box coming up
at windows start time telling me that the O/S cannot find
c:\windows\system32\system32.exe My question is twofold:

1) If I deleted system32.exe while getting rid of the
parite virus (i checked the delete infected files box on my
virus checker and ran it for 5 minutes before noticing)
then how come it's only just started complaining

2) Should I care? and if so where can I get a new copy of
system32.exe. My PC came with XP home edition installed and
no disk

Remove remnants of KWBot.Worm from the Registry and File System
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_clean_kwbot.htm

Note: You'll have to disable your antivirus program before running the repair.

I can send you that virus (system32.exe) if you really feel the need for it.

You have to get rid of the reference to the virus in startup to get rid of
the message. The virus is gone, but the command to start it still resides on
your computer, hence the error message.

Thanks, you've all been very helpful. Hopefully now I've
downloaded an up to date version of Norton I'll be virus
free

Cheers
