switching users

Iwould like to know if anyone can help me, we have windows xp & we have
always been able to switch users whilst programs running, eg; not having to
log off first, now for some reason we are unable to access other users with
out first logging off completeley from one user to another??? This can be an
issue when one person is down loading & the other wants to check e-mails.

CAN ANYONE HELP US!!!!

Drivers and software change with updates or new drivers and software are
added - some may include new background processes. These changes can cause
Fast User Switching to stop working. Usually this is not because Fast User
Switching is broken but because one of the new additions is not (or no
longer) compatible with FUS.

There are some MS Knowledge Base article on the subject of Fast User
Switching and application compatibility. Also on troubleshooting these
problems. However, search at the Knowledge Base does not appear to be
working at the moment. I'll try again later to see if I can dig up some
links for you. In the meantime, you could try searching there as well.
