Switching identities

I am a former Outlook Express user & just found out that Vista uses Windows
Mail....Apparently, if I understand correctly, you can't "switch identities"
anymore & go between several email accounts. I have 3 different email
addresses that I used to be able to go back & forth between easily. How do
I do this now? I can't figure out how to access any more than just 1 of my
accounts. Please help!

You can set up - up to 32 accounts in WM, but they will all come to the same
Inbox, within the same Windows user account.
It is possible to then separate them by using Message Rules, to send various
mail to a particular folder.
Tools>message rules.

You could set up each mail account in a separate Windows User Account?

Or you could get, NOT FREE, but in this case it only costs <$15, the
software was
written specifically for users just like *you*, by a MS-MVP.

Have a look around the site for any other useful tools while you are there?

Windows Mail puts email from all accounts into the
same Inbox. There's no setting to change that. When you send a message,
you can select which account to send from, by clicking on the From: box.

Here are a few alternatives...

1. Create folders for each email account and create message rules to move
email addressed to each account into the appropriate folder.

2. Create and use different Windows Users, each with WM accessing only
their email account.

3. Use the newer Windows Live Mail which has separate folders for each
account:

4. Purchase WMIDs which adds identities to WM
