Switchboard and Macros

I have created a small relational database(AccessXP) and now I wish to make
changes to the switchboard functions. these changes are:

1) Edit existing command buttons. (ie New push button to go to new reports)
2) Add instruction to existing push buttons so forms opens to enter a new
record
3) An explanation why when I go to switchboard manager it tells me that I
don't have a valid switchboard for this database when I do and it is working
fine.

I am new to all this but am slowly getting a handle on it and any assistance
to hasten my progress is gratefully received.
 
The switchboard manager may not offer the degree of flexibility you are
seeking. Have you considered creating your own "menu" forms?
