Harry

Hope this is the right place.
I'm running win98 first ed.
I have been using Outlook Express where I have 5 separate identities with
various e-mail accounts in each.
I just installed Outlook 98 (had it sitting here for years) and I want to
duplicate what I have in Express.
Where is "Switch Identities"?

Thanks

Profiles. Go into Control Panels. Then double click the Mail icon. You can
add multiple profiles there.

Thanks for the quick response. BUT; that's not quite what I meant.
In outlook express I was able to go to "File" and under it to "Switch
Identities"
and create different identities.Under each of these "Identities" I could
create e-mail "Accounts".
I could then go to a particular "Identity" and under that "Identity" see
ONLY those e-mail "Accounts"
associated with that "Identity". All I'm doing in control panel, unless I
missed something, is
creating e-mail "Accounts". But I still have only one "Identity".

If at all possible, Help!

thank you

Outlook does not have "Identities". You can create multiple mail profiles
to emulate them.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

Each profile can be associated with a different account and use a different
message store, making them distinct like OE's Identitied. To switch, you
close Outlook, restart it, and choose a different profile.

How?
What I see in Control Panel > Mail is a duplicate of what I see
in Tools > Accounts > Mail.
I see nothing about Profiles.

Thanks again. You guys are really fast.

There should be a Show Profiles button. You can asociate different accounts
with different profiles.

You will need to install Outlook 98 in the Corporate or Workgroup mode for
profiles to be available. Check Help->About- Second line should say either
Internet Mail Only or Corporate or Workgroup. If it shows IMO, you will
need to switch to CW mode. Insert your Outlook 98 CD and follow the
instructions.
