Ctrl+PgUp or Ctrl+PgDn should do it.

And to switch between 2 workbooks, Ctrl+F6

then select
Work with worksheets (under "Keys for workbooks and worksheets")

Ctrl+Pageup and Ctrl+Pagedown does nothing here!

Alt+Tab and Alt+Esc are the keyboard shortcuts I
use for swapping between windows.

Excel 2000 on WinXP.

I didn't read the OP's post properly. I read worksheets
as workbooks...Doh!!!
