it is a home computer running winXp ( no service packs) but several patches
upto SP1 and ie 6 with several patches..problem seems to be with flashpalyer
v 9 as the flash movies were playing till abt 3 weeks ago.
and btw it is S L N
Home computer and working up to 3 weeks ago suggests as you think, a damaged
flash player.
Check if damaged by selecting Tools>Internet Options - General tab. Settings
Button and then the View Objects button.
Right click on the 'Shockwave ActiveX Control' and Shockwave Flash Object to
display a drop-down menu of options (repair or update)
Other possible causes are Ad blocking software addons.
