Is is possible to get the Swen virus if you DO NOT open the attachment?
Have there been any cases of the infected message "self-opening"?

There was a patch released for IE earlier which closed a vulnerability with
attachments auto-loading. If you are not up to date on patches, infection
is possible in this manner.

Plus it spreads via Kazaa, IRC, and open network shares .. so you only
have to be stupid in one dimension to get infected (or two, I guess,
since your virus checker would catch it, if you had one).
