svchost.exe taking 100% CPU while updating windows

Hello,
I am using Microsoft Update. Whenever some updates are being
downloaded the process svchost.exe is taking up 100 % of the CPU. Can anyone
please tell me the reason for this or give me a solution.

Join the club Balla - It's a problem that MS know about that only seems
to affect older hardware therefore they couldn't give a stuff about
fixing it. They want you to upgrade your hardware and buy Windows
Vista when it come out - that is the solution they will push.
