I suggest that you navigate if you can to Google and search
for msblaster.exe
Make a note of the files where this worm can reside, then
do a Ctrl Alt Del, go to task manager, then processes. Is
one of those files lsted there? If so, welcome to the club,
you have been infected by the blaster worm.
I got infected by logging on the Internet... once! with a
test machine.
Removal instructions are easy to find, so is the removal
tool and the MS patch that you need to install.
If you can't get into the Internet, log out, login back in,
do the Ctrl Alt Del instructions above. In the processes
list select the msblaster.exe process and terminate it.
Try logging in now. This fix may be only temporary.
SOmewhere I read that there is a quick fix to prevent
you from getting this worm, but it is supposed to be
only while you log in and gert the patch and install it.
You have to undo the quick fix once you patch your
system, but I can't recall where I saw this. I think it
was in one of the ms public newsgroups, maybe some
one can help locate it.
Best of luck! And be careful out there.
