I have started to recieve SVCHost.exe errors, and msgs
about connecting to a network. However, I have a stand
alone with just an ISP dialup connection. Any Idea what
the probelem could be and how to stop these msg's?

Hello!

You maybe got the Blaster virus.

look for msblast.exe on your computer.
Delete the file and if look in the registry and delete any string with
msblast.exe
Download a patch for Win2000 and install it.

I have a client with the "unable to disconnect" issue, and this is after
removing Blaster and patching the machine. Does Blaster do any other damage
than adding the MSBlast executable?

Check if the patch is really installed and reinstall if necessary. It will
need a reboot after installing the patch.

I thought SVCHOST was a file the Welchia worm, a variant of blaster uses. If
this is the case searching for msblast will turn up nothing.
