svchost.exe error

Am using Earthlink and Checkpoint Secure Remote software
to connect remotely to my company's network. When working
in Microsoft Outlook I encounter "svchost.exe has
encountered an error" and then the computer essentially
freezes up or becomes otherwise unstable and needs to be
shut down and restarted. I have already installed MS
Service Pack 4, which did not seem to help.

Sounds like your infected with Welchia.

Be sure your virus software is up to date with the latest definitions and
run a full scan.

If you don't have virus software installed. You really need to.
