what can i do to get rid of this svchost.exe error. It
happens randomly and locks up my modem and almost
completely shuts down my internet explorer.

This newsgroup is dedicated to the MS-Access database product. You'll have
better luck in one of the many Internet Explorer groups. It would also help
if you posted the exact error message.

Sounds like the blaster worm. Check symantec or mcafee sites.
