I have a computer running Win 2000 Pro Service pack 4 that
has had this problem since installing msn 8. When on the
web, sooner or later a box will appear saying that an
error has a occured and Svchost.exe while be terminated.
Once this occurs much of the systems functionality fails.
Email can not longer be accessed, Objects can't be linked
int Excel, copy paste and printing functions fail. I've
tried all the fixes I can find (including the service
pack) to no avail. The user says that sometimes the modem
stops working, but I have not been able to reproduce the
error. It is a new modem.
