I've been encountering the following error msg while using
the internet."The instruction at "0x77fcc641" referenced
memory at"0x000027f5". The memory could not be read." Have
been experiencing this error (with various similar
addresses involved) frequently over the past few days.
Unable to open some links and unable to Copy after the
event occurs. Clears with a cold start.

Followup
Ran the Blaster fix. Gave me a clean bill of health!
Encountered the same problem as I was preparing this
email!!!

Jack - this is likely an old but still circulating virus. Google for
"MSBLAST" for info and removal tools.

And if it infected you, you may have others as well. Make sure you have
a good antivirus application installed and frequently updated.

F-secure.com has one that works well for me. It's not very expensive,
updates automatically every day, is simple to acquire via download, and
once set up needs no care and feeding. Today's update includes the
filter for the very recent nasty Mydoom (alias Shimgapi, Novarg,
W32/Mydoom).

[I have no connection with F-secure except as a happy customer.]

Just solved the problem on my machine. Use dialup and have now installed firewall. No further problems.
