I have win2K Adv Server on SVC Pack 3. My drives are
Promise FastTrack66 (BIOS ver 1.3 Build 12).
I backed up the system State files.
ThenI tried to install service pack 4. It failed ...
couldn't copy tserver.exe. There was plenty of room.
I cancelled the install.
I rebooted. Got Blue Screen of Death (BSD).
Now I always get BSD unless I use the installation CD.
When I use the installation CD I get the Setup screen.
But it says I have no Hard Drives installed!
Now I'm stuck!
Any suggestions?

thanks

1. You will need to go to Promise's website and download the windows 2000
device driver to a floppy and press F6 and install it when you boot up.

http://www.promise.com/support/download/download_eng.asp

NOTE: If the Promise controller is an onboard controller, check with the
computer vendor or motherboard vendor for the device driver.

See the following article for more information:

225125 Limited OEM Driver Support with F6 During Windows Setup
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=225125

2. Once you have the device driver on a floppy disk, use the following
article to uninstall SP4 from recovery console (assuming that you archived
the Service Pack files - you did archive the service pack file didn't you?):

825062 Service Pack 4 Permits You to Remove the Service Pack...

If you can't uninstall SP4, you will have to perform an in-place upgrade:
