Suspend button grayed out??

Andrew

I have installed and re-installed my window xp home, but
as always, the suspend button is always grayed out. I am
sure that my bios support it, since in one of my
installation, the suspend button can be used. But did not
get lucky for the subsequent re-installation. Any help?

Don't know much about XP Home as I use XP Pro, however I
must assume that "Suspend" is the same as "Standby" in
the XP Pro version. On this basis you need to go to your
PC "Control Panel" and open up "Power Options" as see if
there is availabilty to select Suspend". I don't
think "Hibernate" is a facility of XP Home so that will
be missing on your system. Of course I believe your
monitor must support this "Suspend" feature too.

Hope this helps
