I have been testing SUS in a non-Active Domain environment
with a WinNT PDC. The SUS server is a W2k server OS. The
client is a Win XP Pro box. I performed a registry edit
as stated in the SUS White Paper for clients in a non AD
enviroment, page 61. The SUS server appears to be working
fine and is collecting updates and patches on schedule.
The trouble is with the client. It displays an error in
The event viewer states the following;
"Automatic certificate enrolement for the local system
failed the active directory 0x8007054b. The specified
domain either does not exist or could not be contacted."

Any help would be appreciated.

This message has nothing to do with SUS, it is related to certificates
and certificate services. Do you have a certificate services
infrastructure in place? Have you deployed certificates?
