SUS in the registry

hello,
when I read up on the subject of Software Update Services, I find the
registry locations
[HLKM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
but when I check a win2k or Winxp PC, this location seems to wrong.
what I find is:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\
Auto Update]
so, I am puzzled.
can someone help me out here?

....\windowsupdate\AU is created when a policy is pushed
from an SUS server or when the keys are manually created
in a non-active directory environment. The SUS whitepaper
descibes the key's contents in detail and their
configuration options.
