SUS auto-restart

recently setup gpo on dc to have sus to install patches and updates locally on the LAN. Here is the settings
configure auto update = enabled = 4 auto d/l and schedule instal
scheduled day = everyda
scheduled time = 17:0
reschedule auto update = enabled = wait 5 min
No auto-restart for scheduled install = enable

The problem is, when the scheduled update occurs, it d/l and installs in the background without problem, but if it requires a reboot and a user (without admin rights) is logon at the same time, they got a prompt notifying the install has been completed and needs to reboot, the Yes button is there, but the No button is greyed ou

SO, how is it possible to have it sceduled and installed at the back, prompt for restart, and user can say No even if they do not have admin rights? This is kinda critical because we are running a 24hr operation here and basically cannot allow a "forced" reboot at any tim

thanks in advance.

Can't be done. At least not with the current release of SUS.

The question you have to ask yourself is if you're running a 24hr operation
when can you allow a reboot to occur? Then schedule it for that time. Yo
could always schedule it for different times for different machines if that
will help.

Microsoft have taken this button away to make sure you
restart! I know it's bloody annoying of them but it does
make sense. Imagine you install all the SUS updatea at
once and then no body restarts, then say a job on your LAN
kicks off and interferes with the SUS install's... you
know now have 100 machine's all knackered... this is why
MS have done it this way....

WUS fixes this problem though.
