Suppress Endnotes Disabled

Microsoft Word 2003:

I have a document that no matter where I place the cursor in the document
and open up page setup, I cannot suppress endnotes. It box and words are
grey shaded. I have worked with endnotes for 20 years and have never seen
this. Can you tell me why this would be happening and how to fix it.

Thank you,

Debra Ann

Remember that you have to set the "Location" of endnotes to "End of section"
in order for the "Suppress endnotes" option to be available.

Thank you so much. That was the problem. There is a macro in our templates
that assigns the endnotes to be end of section, continuous. For some reason,
it wqs not working correctly and the endnotes were at end of document instead.

Thanks again Stefan !!!!

I'm glad I could help.

Whoever created the macro will have to edit it so that it correctly sets the
"End of section" option before trying to suppress the endnotes.
