Summing data referencing incremental cells

Novice Excel 03 user. I have daily production totals in row 6 starting in
column C and going across. In row 83 I would like to start a weekly sum of
the data from row 6. What can I do so that when I sum C6:C10 in C83 I can
copy it to D83 and sum C11:C15? I believe that I need to reference the
number of cells to be summed, but what about short weeks? Is there anything
that can recognize sequential dates above the daily totals so that it knows
to stop the sum if the work week is a 3 or 4 day week? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Where can we read the date appropriate to C6 and to C7 etc?

Date for C6 is in C5, for D6 is in D5...etc.

Now I am confused (not hard to do!)
Is C column for one day or many days?
Why are you summing down C but putting the results across the page ?

Sorry for the confusion and thank you for your patience. I made an error in
my question. I am working accross the page. For example: C6 is 500 and the
date for that day is in C5. D6 is 475 and the date for that day is in D5.
