summation y years

If I have a series of varied payments on different dates over many years, is
there an easy way to sum for each year? In one column will be the actual
dates, but they may not be in order, and in another column will be the $
amounts corresponding to the dates. Thanks for any help.

Use a pivot table - you can group by year.
