Hi,

how can I use a pivot table to summarise the following data:

Sample data:
SalesRep: Month: Sales
Amy. May. 1500
Amy. Jun. 1000
Bob. Mar. 2500
Bob. Jun. 3500
Bob. Mar. 3000
Chuk. May. 2000
Chuk. Jun. 5800
Chuk. Mar. 5600
Doug. Apr. 4000
Doug. Apr. 2000
Doug. Apr. 1400

Expected Result of salesrep. sales for each month: using pivot table:

Month
SalesRep:Apr.May.Jun.Mar.Grand Total
Amy :
Bob :
Chuk:
Doug:

Hi,

Try,

1) Select your data (your 3 columns)
2) Data > PivotTable Report > Click on Finish
3) Drag SalesRep button from the pivottable toolbar to the Row Field on
the pivottable
4) Drag the Month button from the pivottable toolbar to the Column Field
on the pivottable
5) Drag the Sales button from the pivottable toolbar to the Data Item
area of the pivottable
6) Click on the cell containing March, lower the cursor until it changes
to a hand, and then click and drag it over to the right where you'd like
it positioned.

Hope this helps!
