SumIF statements

please help...

i am trying to create a formula to add only if the
previous cell is greater than or equal to 8.

A1:A10 lookup range
B1:B10 values to be added
C1=8

=SUMIF($A$1:$A$10,">="&C1,$B$1:$B$10)
