Sumarize data by quarter between dates

I am trying to total data between two dates and then plot on a chart. Right
now I have a query as follows:
Start Date / Term Date / Total Sq Ft by North / Total Sq Ft by South
1/1/00 10/31/00 5000 1000
3/1/00 10/31/00 1000 1000

What I need is
Qtr / Total Sq Ft by North / Total Sq Ft by South
1QTR 2000 / 5000 / 1000
2QTR 2000 / 6000 / 2000
4QTR 2000 / 0 / 0

SELECT Format([Start Date], "yyyyq") AS YearQTR, Format([Start Date], "q" &
"QTR " & "yyyy") AS QTR_Year, Sum([Total Sq Ft by North]) AS QTR_North,
Sum([Total Sq Ft by South]) AS QTR_South
FROM Your Table
GROUP BY Format([Start Date], "yyyyq");

I need to be more specific. I'm confusing myself by trying to use an example
