Sum Values in Query by Date

I have a table where I am keeping track of caloric intake. I made a query to
summarize and I want to sum calories field by date. Get the total for each
date. The fields I have are: id(primary key), date, meal, food, calories,
notes.

Lloyd,
If you really have a field in yoiur table called DATE, change that to something else,
like MealDate. "Date" is a reserved word in Access...

If you mean just the MealDate and the sum of calories for that day, a totals query with
these two fields would do it
MealDate Calories
GroupBy Sum

Would yield
1/1/07 1400
1/2/07 1145
1/3/07 1080 etc.....

A bit optimistic with the calories?

We are lucky to keep our daily intake to less than 2500 even though we need
only about 1600, especially sitting in front of the computer all day like
us.

Ha! Right you are...
I should have suggested that Calories should be a numeric "Bite" field. Ouch!!! :-D
