SUM isn't working

I'm doing something wrong while trying to add a column of numbers, and have
the SUM reflect the changes to the values of those numbers. I've used this
tool before and it's been fine.

However, for some reason the SUM cells won't refresh when new values are
added in the cells above it.

Example: Let's say that B2 thru B4 various values; B5 has =SUM(B2:B4)
B2 = $5.00
B3 = $6.00
B4 = 0
B5 = SUM(B2:B4) = $11.00

If I change B4 to $8.00, B5 should automatically change to $19.00, but it
won't. It just stays at $11.00.

This is now consistently happening in all my Excel worksheets. Help!! I
can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.
