In 7/99, I purchased a Dell. I'm ready to upgrade, but do not want to pay for high-speed internet connection. Dial-up is ok for now. Will dial-up allow the upgrade to function? If so, where should Ilook for best prices?
Currently, I have: Dimension XPS T500MHz Pentium III Mini Tower w/ 512 cache;
128MB, SDRAM memory; 40X MAX Variable CD ROM; 3COM US Robotics v.90 PCI Telephony WinModem; 13.6GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive, 7200RPM; Windows 98SE;
Microsoft Works Suite99.

If you wish to upgrade ms windows and or ms office you will have to purchase
hardcopy from yr local pc store, allthough you can obtain a trial version of
Office 2003, on dial up it will be a seriously long process.
However before you upgrade the o/s you need to run a compatibility check to
ensure yr hardware supports it.
eg you would be advised to have a min 256mb ram to run winXp and or Office
