Suggestions for an old P3B-F

I've upgraded to a P4P800 / Pentium 4 system and now I have my trusty old
Asus P3B-F (rev 1.03) here that I want to use to upgrade a friend's PC.
My old CPU was only 433MHz so I'm wanting to upgrade the CPU. This is what
I'm looking at ...
http://nz.ingrammicro.com/ES/corporate/jsp/CNet/product.jsp?Lookup=A10002
Will this run if I get a suitable slotket for it? What type of slotket would
be the best?
The PC is only going to be used to run Windows XP, Office and some old games
like The Sims and Hoyles Cards etc so I'm going to thrown in about 512MB of
PC133 SDRAM and a cheap Geforce4 MX card as well. It should hopefully be
more than enough for their needs.
Thanks in advance.

If it's only going to run old stuff I don't think I would spend money on
upgrading the CPU, not right away anyway.
If you spend a bit more you probably can get a Asrock (brand of Asustek)
with Athlon 2000+ CPU.
Some asrock mobo's have both DDR and SDRAM slots. Hmm, come to think of it,
you will have a powersupply problem.
Ah well, bottomline is I wouldn't upgrade the CPU (not right away anyway).
Give it a try first I'd say!

You are in luck. The P3B-F rev 1.03 is listed as being a candidate for
an Upgradeware Slot-T, which will cost somewhere in the $25 or so range.
On pricewatch, your 1100/100/256 processor costs somewhere between
$38 to $52. A processor like that can be overclocked by bumping the
FSB from 100 to 133MHz. Then, some PC133 CAS2 memory can be used to
get better memory bandwidth.

If you don't plan on using an FSB higher than 100MHz, or your memory
is only PC100 anyway, you could buy a 1400/100/256 for about the
same price.

You can find a place to buy a Slot-T here:

I got mine here (Canada):
