in the olden days Outlook and Outlook Express did not play well with each other, but not now - haven't had problems with their coexistence in years.

| like you I don't like the web interface of this ng. the old one was worse.
| I use outlook express strictly for this newsgroup. I run outlook 2002 for
| real business and I've never had a problem with one because of the other.
| Outlook Express is definitely the best way to use this ng.

Oh, yeah but that just uses OE right...its not truly intergrated within O.

Shortcut or add to favorites. I'd use OE, but weird stuff happens, like no MAPI for replies to the ng.
I really don't mind the forum though. Also saves me from deleting a lot of unwanted stuff. Heck, I already have enough crap on this hd. Let someone else store it. hehehe

That is correct. Outlook does not have a newsreader. That's why it uses OE
as the newsreader.

I always wondered why MS omitted the newsreader from Outlook. I use Outlook for everythang and OE for only ng reading...infact it's the only reason OE exists on my machine right now.

| Correct. But there will be a menu item for News in Outlook.

HA....you should see my desktop...covered with shortcuts. Making a favorite is a pain so I generally create shortcut to desktop...then when desktop gets full (and if I have time) I'll sort out them out and put them in favorites...yah right...like every six months?!
