I tried to install a new game the other day and the drive
would not read the cd.
Tried the other drive, same thing.
Took the offending cd to another computer and it read it
without any problem.
Took one of the two malfunctioning drives and installed it
in other computer, works fine.
Both drives will read audio cd's and the DVD RW will play
DVD's ok.
Cannot read the Windows 2000 disk, cannot read any other
previously installed program or game cd.
Is this a software problem or something on the motherboard?
thanks
Frank

Ok I found the problem, this is for anybody that is looking
I had just installed Norton 2004 Anti Virus and apparently they have a problem
Turned off autoprotect and reboot. that cured my problem
Know I have to find out to fix Norto
Thank
Fran
