suddenly after 2 yrs successful sending, cant send windows email

This is the error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Test', Account:
'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Two items- My IE is ver 7, and had to reduce security in order to work with
my corporate website (they say their own security is sufficient). No other
changes that I know of. On Windows VISTA. Thank you, KBL

Have you tried the" secret" port 587 setting?
follow the last steps... starting with 10.

Comcast is abandoning use of port 25 in favor of port 587.
Follow these instructions:

Note that the outgoing server now requires port 587 rather than port 25.
Also, "My server requires authentication" must be checked.
